When to go?

The ideal time for an entomological trip to Sabah and Sarawak is between March and October.

From March to June, conditions are especially favorable, with warm temperatures, moderate humidity, and excellent nocturnal insect activity perfect for observation.

From July to October, biodiversity reaches its peak. Although humidity increases slightly in September and October, this period remains exceptional for spotting beetles, butterflies, and many other tropical species. It’s a must-visit season for entomology enthusiasts eager to explore the rich forests of Borneo.

Easy. The walks carried out throughout the tour do not present any difficulty. It is hot, between 30 and 34°C (86 to 94°F), and the percentage of humidity is high, between 80-95%.

We walk a few hours a day at the pace of leisurely walking with many breaks for observation. You are in good health and able to walk at a normal pace, with a small backpack containing hydration.

Accommodation throughout the trip varies between premium and standard.

We will travel by minibus with approved drivers. Road conditions in Malaysia are good.

Information concerning health and administrative formalities may constantly evolve. It is necessary to check for updates with official bodies.
